Who are We?

NYUMBANI, meaning “At Home” in Swahili, is a modern, mission-driven nonprofit based in Pierce County, Washington. We serve youth and young adults (YYA), ages 16 to 24, who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
Rooted in lived experience and driven by purpose, we are committed to ending generational homelessness through community, advocacy, resources, education, and equity.
At NYUMBANI, we believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home—and that real change starts here.
